What is Buddy?

Buddy is an insurance agency built for outdoor enthusiasts. We are adventurers, techies, and insurance innovators and we’re creating a platform to protect you as you enjoy an active, outdoor life.

How can I get in touch with someone?

BuddyBot is available 24/7 to answer questions you have now. Once we launch, BuddyBot will be able to help you complete purchases, make changes, and begin a claim after an accident. If you run into issues BuddyBot can’t handle yet, one of our licensed agents will take over and get you squared away.

In what states is Buddy licensed?

Buddy Technology, Inc. is currently licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC. Massachusetts and New York are coming soon.

Where is Buddy’s accident policy available for purchase?

What is BuddyBot?

BuddyBot is a chatbot that is being designed to help out with policy related questions, getting you covered, and initiating claims. BuddyBot is live, but still learning every day so there’s still plenty that it won’t yet understand. Our team of awesome agents is ready to lend a hand - just type "Customer Support" if you’re having trouble.

Right now BuddyBot lives in Facebook Messenger, but if there’s another messaging service you’d like to see supported, let us know.

What can BuddyBot help me with?

What can BuddyBot help me with? In addition to answering questions about coverage and handling policy purchases, once we launch, BuddyBot will be able to assist with completing policy changes (like address changes or adding new activities) or with cancelling a policy. BuddyBot will also be able to start a claim. No more transfers and no more elevator music while you hold for the next available agent. BuddyBot will gather all of the information we need to get your policy issued, your changes processed, and your claims paid.

Policy

How do I change or cancel my policy?

The best way to request a change or cancellation will be to email us at support@iambuddy.com. Soon you will be able to request a change or cancel your policy using BuddyBot.

Does Buddy's accident policy have a deductible?

No! Our accident policy has first dollar benefits, which means that you don't have a deductible you are required to meet before your claim is paid.

Claims

How do I file a claim?

To report a claim, you will need to notify us at claims@iambuddy.com. For more information about filing a claim, check out the information on our accident page.

How long does it take for a claim to be paid?

Claims will be paid as soon as they are approved, usually within 3-7 business days.

Who do I contact if I have an issue with a claim I am trying to file, or have previously filed?

Shoot us an email at claims@iambuddy.com if you have any concerns during the claims process. If you already have a number assigned to your claim, please provide that in your email.
